About El Dorado 25 Year Old Rum
El Dorado 25 Year Old Demerara Rum is elusive, rich, smooth and mellow with viscous mouth-feel and subtle notes of caramel and heavy fruit cake. The finish develops slowly and leaves opulence to last. The 25 year old is incredibly rare, housed in a decanter style sculpted glass bottle – hinting at its luxurious flavour. It is a blend of the world’s only wooden Coffey still, the unique double wooden pot still and 2 types of column still and has been aged for exactly 25 years in small American Oak casks. It’s bottled in limited quantities each year and only released on allocation.
About El Dorado Rum
Eldorado rums are produced strictly from local Demerara sugar cane, grown on the banks of the Demerara river and are aged in small American oak casks before being blended to perfection by the master blender. The rums are left to marry for at least three months ensuring a rich development of flavours with impressive complexity. This legendary company began in 1670 after amalgamating with local sugar cane producers under the guidance of early European explorers. Demerara Distillers Ltd has continued to impress, winning the trophy for ‘Best Spirits Producer in the Americas & Caribbean Region’ at the IWSC in both 2010 and 2011. At the Diamond estate, the standards and methods of this age-old industry have been maintained, and the original heritage stills and equipment have been preserved in working order to operate in tandem with the most up to date production technology. Demerara Distillers operate the only remaining wooden Coffey still in the world – as well as the only wooden pot stills – both of which contribute to the distinctive flavour profiles of the rums in the El Dorado stable. El Dorado offers a unique range of outstanding rums with true age statements and represents the flavours, history and culture of the country of Guyana.
